HKBU athletes take the spotlight at World and Asian Championships

Lau Chi-lung, a student of the Physical Education and Recreation Management programme, delivered an exceptional performance at the 17th World Wushu Championships held from 1 to 7 September in Brazil. He clinched two gold medals in the Men’s Nandao and Men’s Nangun events and a silver medal in the Men’s Nanquan event, achieving a personal best record.

Chiu Chun-yin, a student of the same programme, excelled at the 23rd Asian Cadet, Junior & U21 Karate Championships held in Shaoguan from 5 to 7 September. He secured a bronze medal in the Male Individual Kata (U21) event.
