HKBU receives HK$5 million donation for Chinese Medicine Research Fund for treating Parkinson’s disease

HKBU has established the “Research Fund for Chinese Medicine Treatment of Parkinson’s Disease” with a generous donation of HK$5 million.

 

HKBU has recently received a generous donation of HK$5 million from two anonymous benefactors to establish the “Research Fund for Chinese Medicine Treatment of Parkinson’s Disease”. This significant contribution will enable Professor Li Min, Dean of the School of Chinese Medicine (SCM), to lead the School in spearheading cutting-edge research into innovative treatments for Parkinson’s disease.

SCM is dedicated to advancing the application of Chinese medicine in addressing neurodegenerative diseases. In particular, SCM has amassed substantial clinical experience and research achievements in treating Parkinson’s disease, reinforcing HKBU’s reputation as a leader in this field. SCM will utilise the new funding to further its research and develop novel therapeutic approaches, aiming to enhance clinical outcomes and bring renewed hope to those affected by Parkinson’s disease and their families.
