The Human Resources Office and the Centre for Innovative Service-Learning jointly organised SDGs Day@HKBU on 20 and 21 November. Through activities including a bazaar, workshops and quizzes, the event aimed to raise the awareness among staff and students about the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and to explore strategies employed by NGOs and social enterprises to advance various SDGs and address social issues in Hong Kong.
The event was supported by the Estates Office, the Jockey Club Traditional Chinese Medicine-driven Mental Wellness Project under the Clinical Division of the School of Chinese Medicine, and 15 NGOs and social enterprises, including HKBU student-led projects. Among the activities, the Estates Office set up a green campus game booth to introduce the green facilities on campus and HKBU’s efforts towards sustainability, while the Jockey Club Traditional Chinese Medicine-driven Mental Wellness Project organised herbal sachet workshops. The event also featured student-led experiential activities such as upcycling as well as skill showcase led by people with different abilities.
The event also featured message boards for participants to pledge their support for SDGs and a stamp collection station for the redemption of a 2026 SDG calendar and other souvenirs.
