An award presentation ceremony was held on 1 November to celebrate the outstanding designs. Dr Kennedy Y H Wong, Chairman of the Council and the Court of HKBU, and Mr Paul Poon, Deputy Chairman of the Council and the Court cum Chairman of the judging panel, delivered remarks and presented the awards to the winners. Ms Christine Chow, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary, and members of the judging panel congratulated the awardees at the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Dr Kennedy Y H Wong said, “These outstanding entries are the most thoughtful gifts for the University’s 70th anniversary. Not only will they become an important symbol for our journey towards a new milestone, but they also embody our shared vision for the future. Taking this opportunity, we will actively support the ‘Study in Hong Kong’ advocacy of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, attract outstanding students from around the world to Hong Kong to fulfil their dreams, and strive for HKBU’s future together.”

Mr Paul Poon commended the participants for their creativity and outstanding work. He said, “The entries were exceptional, which made choosing the best works challenging. These works showcased the incredible talent within the HKBU community and its supporters.”

Mr Wong Wei-lung, the winner of the Slogan Design grand award and a HKBU staff member who has worked at the University for 18 years, shared that his inspiration came from the design of the University Emblem and HKBU’s motto of “Faith and Perseverance”. “Winning this competition is deeply humbling because the slogan is not just a line; it is an invitation. It asks each of us—students, faculty, alumni, and friends—to carry HKBU’s spirit into the future by living out our motto every day: to believe deeply and to act resolutely. It also pays tribute to everyone who has built this community: those who taught and learned, who served quietly, who kept the faith and did the work,” he said.
